"I could not give birth to my precious baby girl without Iman. She is definitely heaven sent. Early on in my pregnancy, I decided that I would not get an epidural. People told me that I was crazy, but I was determined to not receive one. I didn't know how I was going to get through the pain, but i was confident with my decision. To be honest, I never knew what a doula was until i became pregnant. On Facebook, I recalled my cousin, sharing her experience with using a doula, but that's about it. I was referred to be my coworker, Shanta.  I'm so thankful for that referral. Iman encouraged me, advocated for me and stood by my side the entire time. "I don't think i really understand the impact a doula could have on assisting my positive birthing experience until i delivered my first child on 3/3/19. During my pregnancy, Iman had been extremely informative on what to expect without pushing her own personal views on my (which I'd experienced with some nurses and midwives). If there was anything I was uncertain of when creating my birth plan, prior to my LOs arrival; she directed me to various sources so I could make an informed decision for myself. She  was also very supportive and attended doctors appointments with me; often asking questions that I wasn't thinking of but probably should have been. 

Once it was time for my baby to enter this world, I felt prepared. I didn't have any worries as Iman was right there. She drove me to the hospital, created a relaxing environment (so much so that the nurses commented they wanted to come and take their break in my L/D room, lol) and advocated for me by verbalizing the things i asked for in my birth plan when I couldn't. She also even went above and beyond by teaching my partner to give massages which helped me manage the contractions. As a result, I was able to have an unmedicated birth with no major complications... exactly what I wanted, how I wanted. so, if I ever decide to have another baby I will definitely have Iman as my doula again!! "

"The pregnancy of my daughter is one for the books for sure. My experience for the first time with assistance from my dual was everything i needed and wanted. Meeting Iman was huge blessing for me and my family, i never knew the amount of importance it is for the environment around you during labor to be so important and symbolic. After having my first pregnancy, and dealing with preeclampsia i never again wanted to experience that pain and or lose my life during birth. I thanked the universe abundantly for my second son who i was able to have regular and healthy during pregnancy and delivery.  During that time, it was a lot of chaos during his arrival and i didn't really have an opportunity to voice myself yet again and make a plan on how i wanted to set the mood for his arrival. I knew with finding out about my third, i was going to be in control and my goal was having an all natural no medication birth.

Finding out i was expecting a baby girl this time around, i felt so connected with Iman when we met formally and speaking with her it just felt so right and i knew i was given such a precious opportunity to really be in control and know my strength. Iman helped me spiritually, physically and mentally during labour. Off gate, she was all for how i wanted everything to go and what so preferred and also opened  me up to opportunities i never gotten to experience like keeping my placenta / a lotus birth, being active during contractions and not just laying in the bed.

I was pushed to use my will power and tap into my inner Lioness strength. There was moments i wanted to give in and get an epidural but man i looked into Imans eyes telling her OMG this is sooo intense for me and she didn't allow me to crack but rather remind me of my worth and how i can do this!! We had the room dimmed and played meditation healing sounds, it was soothing for me on top of her set up with aromatherapy. All that combined, i was able to distract myself with speaking with her each time i felt the urge to cave in -  still so persistent she eased my pain with pressure points and continues to remind me i was a warrior and that it would all be over soon! Thankfully, i had medical staff who also supported my way of labor and delivery and that helped run out so much and make Imans job east for her. What i realized was i needed to acknowledge the pain and discomfort to be released and pass with love, literally this journey for me has pushed me more into my own power more than ever.

Im so grateful for Iman and her power, she kept pushing and reminding me that an all natural birth  was what i wanted and she didn't allow me to fall back on my plan! Meeting my daughter was an amazing feeling and the pain and patience was well worth it - Iman, thank you so much, again beautiful for your energy, love, healing touch in my journey. In this time of healing, i have been able to shed every negative thought ive had, i healed more quickly than my last pregnancies, my energy is more up and most importantly, my babygirl is at peace, not one sign of distress. You have allowed me to tap into myself and flourish into the woman i've always known was hidden inside. I love you so much and i am so blessed to have you in my life!! I truly recommend Iman to any one who is expecting or planning whatever your case is - I push you to speak with Iman and together you too can have the birth plan and succeed in something we are made to do and handle.
